How to Commission a Fursuit
Step One: Gather Information
Review CityMutt's Commission Price List, in order to get an idea of how much a fursuit from CityMutt costs and the types of features that are standard and what would be considered extra. When you have a good idea of what you want and what CityMutt offers, the application process will be much easier. You are required to agree to our Terms and Conditions when submitting an application, so please read them before you begin the application process.
Step Two: Submit Application
Fill out and submit a Commission Application, but ONLY DURING POSTED DATES. If we are currently CLOSED for applications, we will discard your application without a reply. Check the Announcement Bar at the top of the website to see if we are OPEN or CLOSED.
Your application will require you to provide contact information, some measurements, details about your character, and the specifications of your fursuit. It is important to fill out this form as accurately as possible, since this information will be used to build your fursuit. If the application is not filled out adequately, we will not ask you to try again before discarding it.
Step Three: Application Review
Once CityMutt has received your application we will review it and decide if we will accept the commission. If your application has been rejected, you will receive an email letting you know. Until you have received a rejection email, your application is still being considered for a slot. If the application is approved, we will then issue you an email with a price quote for your commission. Make sure to check your email often after applying. If you have not received a reply within seven business days, please email us at: info@citymuttfursuits.com
Step Four: Price Quote
Once you receive your price quote, its up to you to decide if you want to go through with the commission. Please reply to us with your decision quickly. If we do not receive a reply within 24 hours, CityMutt will take it as a refusal and discard your application. If you decide you want to commission CityMutt after your application has been discarded you will have to resubmit it during the next opening.
Step Five: Wait List
You're in! Once you have agreed to your price quote, you will have to pay a non-refundable $100 deposit to be added to the Wait List. The rest of your down payment is only required once you are number three or higher on the Wait List.
Step Six: down Payment
So now that you've moved up to the third slot, what's next? As you moved up the Wait List, CityMutt will have sent notifications to your email that your commission was getting close to the third slot. Now that you are in the third slot we will send you an email requesting that you pay at least 50% of your commission's total price. You will also receive an electronic invoice where you can complete the transaction. If payment is not received or you have failed reply, your slot will be dropped from the Wait List.
Step seven: duct-tape dummy
Once payment has been received, CityMutt will begin ordering the material that will be used on your commission. We will also ask you to send us your Duct-Tape Dummy at this time if your commission requires that we have one. You can find the tutorial here.
Step Eight: Final Payment
Work on your commission will begin once you move to the first slot. Since we focus on one commission at a time, our progress will be fast paced. Before you know it your fur-suit will be done and ready to ship. Once you've received notification that your commission is complete your final payment will be required as well as the cost of shipping. You will once again receive an electronic invoice where you can complete the transaction. Once payment is received, CityMutt will ship your commission to the address provided in your application.
Step Nine: Have a blast
It should go without saying that once you receive your fursuit, the next step is to have some fun! Make sure to visit our Tutorials to find some tips on how to get the best out of your furry alter ego.
